Performance Capture for Warner Bros
Digital Puppetry for Warner Bros

The Challenge
One of our senior CTOs was tasked with delivering a real-time interactive exhibit that would allow public visitors to experience motion capture technology first-hand. The installation needed to be immersive, self-guided, and capable of operating reliably with little to no staff supervision — all within the constraints of a high-traffic museum setting.
Our Solution
Our senior CTO led the development of a Kinect-based character performance simulator using Unreal Engine 4. The system allows visitors to animate a recognizable character through three real-time stages: a motion-tracked stick figure, a wireframe skeletal form, and finally, a fully rendered animated avatar inside a richly detailed Harry Potter-inspired library environment.
Built for durability, the system includes automated reset mechanisms between users and was designed for 24/7 operation with minimal technical intervention.
The Results
- 10+ years of continuous public operation since launch in 2015
- Zero recorded systemic failures requiring full shutdown since installation
- Regular use by hundreds of weekly visitors, with high engagement observed across age groups
- Still in use today, demonstrating long-term value, technical robustness, and public appeal
